    label: Sudden Death

20th Anniversary re-release. Newly remastered, this is the album that launched one of the most entertaining and hard working bands on the planet. Led by legendary front man Paul McKenzie, these kilt wearin' madmen cement mixer-up punk rock with Scottish traditional. In fact some critics credit the McKenzies for inventing this now popular style of punk. Clash of the Tartans is also probably their finest effort to date. Once the needle hits the groove it's a non stop party that has the scotch and ale being rapidly consumed. From the rousing opening track Stone of Kings to the wild Thistle Boy, the band combines power and some of the catchiest hooks this side of Glasgow. The third track is the now classic Mainland, from there the album rages on with stirring anthems like Will Ye Be Proud and To The Battle. There's also a ripping version of Auld Lang Syne. Robbie Burns would heartily approve.
